Inspiring kids through drama, dance and song
I studied at the Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts in London, having won a full scholarship to its Junior and Performing Arts course.
There I learnt a wide variety of dance, singing and drama, as well as qualifying as a ballet teacher with the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (I.S.T.D).
Whilst rehearsing for the Children’s Royal Variety show, performing in front of the Queen, I was accepted to join the cast of Miss Saigon in London’s West End. I stayed for five years, playing a number of parts and understudying the lead. A tour of the UK and Ireland followed with Joseph and his Technicolour Dreamcoat playing in the ensemble, and on many occasions, the lead part as the Narrator.
I then continued working on TV, film and stage projects for ten years. This included (among others) Hey, Mr. Producer! The Musical World of Cameron Mackintosh, an episode as lead actress in The Bill for ITV; appearances on Ruth Rendell for Meridian; Chandler & Co and Pat & Margaret for the BBC. Corporate film work included Bertelsmann, British Telecom, Mars Group and InterCity.
In between professional work I ran my own musical theatre school giving workshops to children between 7 and 10 years old. After moving to Porto, Portugal I had the opportunity to give drama workshops at the CLIP Oporto International School, before becoming an entrepreneur in catering and events.
Having taken a break to focus on raising my two children, Chloe and Josh, and now living in the heart of Hilversum, I am returning to my roots in musical theatre, and my love for teaching children.

"I have been working in primary education for a long time and have seen some farewell musicals. The musical that Jane rehearsed with the students was of a high standard, the best one I have seen in the past 40 years. The students acted as if they had already taken acting lessons for a long time. The singing was of good quality, and the students supported it with appropriate dancing or other movements. There was also humor in the setting and scenes. I can definitely recommend Jane. She can really achieve a professionally performed musical with your students in a short time."

"Jane is a very enthusiastic teacher! Jane teaches us new techniques how to sing, act, and move to be on stage. I love that I’m learning how to act and sing together with my friends."

"Our experience with Jane for the musical classes has been nothing short of amazing! It's clear that Jane not only has a deep passion for music and theatre, but also a special gift for working with children. She made learning fun and accessible for every skill level, helping each child shine in their role. Jane made sure each child felt important, no matter how big or small their part. This inclusivity and attention to individual growth was heartwarming to see, and the end result was an incredibly entertaining performance of Wonka that left all of us parents feeling proud."

""My boys loved the classes. She was so engaging with all the kids & encouraged them to have lots of fun, sing & play their instruments. They grew & developed in the class whilst really enjoying it & also made new friends & learnt lots of new songs. It was a lovely experience for them & for myself too."
